Runr collects a variety of data about your runs for your own personal use. Your private and sensitive data is never shared. No one has access to your data except for you. You have the ability to opt-out of services such as Game Center, iCloud, and Apple Health which are integrated with Runr. Social Media sharing is optional, and if you choose to share data via social media no sensitive or personal information will be shared (e.g. location, route, calories).
Runr collects data from your phone to provide a fantastic way to track, save, and optionally share your runs. Runr records the following items during a run:
Runr may optionally store your weight for calorie calculation during a run.
Game Center high scores and achievements, earned during your run, are stored locally even if you have not signed into Game Center (see the section titled Game Center for more details).
Data collection begins after allowing Runr to track your location, when you have started a run through the Runr interface. The collected data is securely stored in a database on your device's hard-drive. This database is encrypted by iOS and is accessible only from the device. You have complete control over your data; it is not uploaded, shared, rented or sold.
Starting with Runr version 2.0 you may optionally sync your run data with the Apple Health app included in iOS 8 on the iPhone. Health is a health service from Apple. It provides an easy‑to‑read dashboard of your health and fitness data. Before adding any data to your private Health database, Runr will request access. You may grant or deny Runr the ability to add specific types of data to your Health app. If you grant Runr this permission, it can be revoked at any time by you.
Runr uploads your best times and longest runs to Game Center. No personal or sensitive data is uploaded to Game Center. You can logout of Game Center or delete Runr from Game Center to disable this feature.
At the end of a run, or when reviewing a run, Runr allows you to share information about that run to various services. These services include Twitter, Facebook, and iMessage (or standard text-messaging). When sharing to social media, Runr only shares non-personal data: run time and run distance. Your personal information (including but not limited to route, location, and photos) is never uploaded by Runr. When sharing your run you will be prompted with an editable preview of the content being shared.
Runr connects to an online database, the Active Network, LLC (“ACTIVE”), to retrieve nearby race events. In order to display race events, Runr makes a secure online request via the ACTIVE API for race event data. The request includes only your current address (city, state, and country); no other information is sent in the request or transferred over the internet. Upon receiving the request, ACTIVE returns a list of race events within a specified radius of the address sent in the request.
Only you have access to your data. You may optionally share your data on social media, through Game Center, or with the Health App. The development team (iRare Media) has no way to access your data. Should a government agency or legal body request access to your data, iRare Media would have no way to access, retrieve, or furnish that data. Your data is accessible only to you; it cannot and will never be marketed, sold, or traded with third-parties.
Runr does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under 13.
While iRare Media continues to work hard to protect your personal information, no data transmission can be guaranteed to be absolutely secure, and iRare Media cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to Runr. Transmitting personal information is done at your own risk.
